The Health and Wellbeing Index is creared by averaging residents self-reported ratings of their current physical health, mental health and social wellbeing. The maximum possible score on the Index is 10.
Australia residents Health and Wellbeing Index returned a value of 7.0 out of 10. This finding was higher than Regional Australia: 2024 (6.9) and lower than Metropolitan Australia: 2024 (7.1).

Physical health

Residents rated their current physical health an average of 7.0 out of 10. When asked about the future, 30% forecast that their physical health will get better in 12 months and 12% believe it will get worse.
